Electrochemical polishing

Why electropolishing ?

The advantages of electropolished surfaces compared to mechanical treatment are numerous. Following functional features can be achieved by electropolishing :

  • high corrosion resistance
  • metallic pureness and chemical passiveness
  • optimal cleanability
  • particle free and refractory
  • quality controll by detection of treatment and material defects (defectoscopy)
  • deburring in micro and macro range
  • strongly reduced affinity to coating
  • clearly reduced outgassing
  • optimal weldablity and solderability
  • reduced friction and abrasion

Special component electropolished internally

Component electropolished externally

Electropolishing – how is it done ?

The process represents a reversed galvanic operation. Exposed to direct current (rectifier) and suspended into specific electrolyte solution metal material is removed from the surface of the component which is connected anodically
